"Great tour taking catamaran to reefs. Staff was excellent in assisting people with snorkeling equipment. For the 2 of us in upper 60’s, they assisted as much as we wanted. Waves were a bit too choppy for my endurance level..I’ve snorkeled before, but in calmer waters. Can’t blame tour company for this windy day"

What Our Guests Say
"Me and my friend are glad we chose this tour operator among others! Snorkelling was great, really impressive to explore the Great Barrier Reef! Crew was welcoming, super professional and kind. Loved the lunch buffet, lot of choices and good food quality. The boat is offers different spaces where to relax and sunbathe. Very interesting the final presentation about the reef and the wildlife that inhabits. Thanks guys, will remember this day 🫶🏻 We loved Roberto 🇮🇹"

"What an amazing day. A great crew made me feel safe at all times. Equipment was clean and good standard. Instruction was clear and thorough. Was very nervous snorkling bit the great guide Andi supported me and had a about an hour sesdion in the end. Great lunch snd refreshments through the day. Boat wss spotless and plenty of room"

"This trip is absolutely awesome. The crew were very professional and looked after us all extremely well. We enjoyed every minute. The food was very fresh and tasty. I was a little nervous about snorkelling so I went on the orange rings with the brilliant instructor Julia who told us very interesting information and facts about the reef while we were snorkelling. Words just cannot describe the beauty of the reef and the exotic fish. I highly recommend this trip and this company."
"What a wonderful tour and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!!"
"Truly amazing, I had never tried scuba diving but felt so safe with the team, one of the best experiences ever, 100% recommended"

"This was an amazing day. Our experience was as great as previous participants. There are plenty of staff for the number on the boat. I did a dive with Parker & a snorkel with Lily. They both were so encouraging, pointing out the fish, corals and interesting phenomena. There was delicious fruit as soon as we boarded and tea/coffee/water. The safety briefing with Parker prior to our dive allowed all of us to ask questions and make sure we all knew the hand signs before we entered the water. Then a map of the dive and where we were going. The lunch was delicious and plentiful. The snorkel after lunch with Lily was even better than the dive because as we saw things of interest, lily told us all about them there & then rather than just pointing The talk as we returned back to shore by Elena was very interesting too. I highly recommend this trip It would have been great to have Elena’s talk before we went into the water. I would have greatly appreciated all that I saw much more."
"Nothing to improve, everything was perfect ! 😃 Activity was very comprehensive: boat trip, snorkeling with very nice supervision and fabulous corals ! Excellent buffet... Must do !"
"The crew of our boat were very friendly yet very professional. We were issued gear and were given general instructions and safety instructions. Simon was very informative and did a great job of making sure we were comfortable as well as providing humor. Marco was wonderful as he was assigned by Simon to my husband and me while we snorkelled. Marco knew when to give us distance, when to check in, and gave good information about what we were seeing in the water. The 2 hours snorkelling before lunch and an hour after was a perfect amount of time to explore the wonders under the water."
"Very well organized. Great reef watching spots. Crew - the best. Fantastic food. All great."

"Genial"

Everything you need to know before booking your reef tour from Cairns.
This premium catamaran cruise starts from $193 per person. That includes visits to 2 outer reef sites, snorkeling equipment, a chef-prepared buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, wetsuits or sunsuits, prescription masks, flotation belts, and a guided marine presentation. The only extras are scuba diving (intro dives available on board), drinks from the bar, and underwater camera hire.
With a 4.9 out of 5 rating from over 3,649 guests, this is one of the highest-rated reef experiences in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef is a UNESCO World Heritage Site stretching over 2,300 km — the world's largest coral reef system. This cruise takes you to the outer reef, where the coral is more pristine and the marine life more diverse than inner reef options like Green Island.
Snorkeling is included free and lets you see the same coral gardens, turtles, and tropical fish from the surface. The reef is shallow enough that snorkelers get an incredible view. Introductory scuba dives are available on board for an extra fee (no certification needed). Certified divers can bring their own proof and dive deeper. For most first-time visitors, snorkeling is more than enough — and you get 3+ hours across 2 reef sites.
Both are excellent departure points. Cairns offers more tour options, more competition (better prices), and a livelier town. Port Douglas is smaller, quieter, and technically closer to some reef sections. This tour departs from Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal at 8 AM — the biggest range of outer reef tours leaves from Cairns. If you're staying in Port Douglas, there are also great options departing from there.
The outer reef (where this tour goes) has better water visibility, more diverse and pristine coral, and larger marine life — turtles, giant wrasse, reef sharks. The inner reef (Green Island, Fitzroy Island) is calmer, closer to shore, and better for families with young children. The trade-off is a longer boat ride to the outer reef (about 2 hours each way), but the snorkeling quality is noticeably better.
June to October (Australian dry season) offers the calmest seas and best underwater visibility. But the reef is open year-round. Water temperature ranges from 23°C in winter to 29°C in summer. This tour provides stinger suits during jellyfish season (November–May). April is a sweet spot — warm water, fewer crowds, and reasonable visibility as the wet season ends.
Wear swimwear under comfortable clothes. The tour provides all snorkeling equipment, wetsuits or sunsuits (depending on season), and prescription masks. Bring a hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, and water. There's no dress code on board — most guests are in swimwear and cover-ups all day.
Yes. This tour provides flotation belts and guided snorkel tours where you hold onto a floating ring while the guide does the swimming. You can also stay aboard the catamaran — relax on the upper sun deck, the boom netting at the bow, or watch the reef through the glass-bottom viewing area. The marine presentation on the return trip is also excellent for non-swimmers.
One full day is enough for a complete reef experience. This 9-hour cruise covers 2 outer reef sites with 3+ hours of snorkeling time. Some visitors add a second day for a scenic flight (40 minutes, aerial reef views) or a trip to a different reef system. But if you only have one day, a full-day outer reef cruise gives you the most comprehensive experience.
This cruise includes: visits to 2 outer reef locations, all snorkeling equipment, a chef-prepared tropical buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, an on-board marine life presentation, wetsuits (winter) or sunsuits (summer), prescription masks, and flotation belts. Not included: scuba diving (optional extra), drinks from the bar, underwater camera hire, and hotel transfers.
Full-day tours ($193, 9 hours, 2 reef sites, lunch included) give you a deeper experience — more time in the water, two different reef environments, and a leisurely pace. Half-day tours ($126–$147, 4–5 hours, 1 reef site, snacks only) are better if you're on a tight schedule or prone to seasickness. For a first visit, the full-day cruise is worth the extra cost — you'll see significantly more reef.
Yes — April marks the end of the wet season. Water is still warm (26–28°C), tourist crowds are lighter than peak season (June–August), and visibility is improving as conditions calm. Stinger suits are provided if box jellyfish are present. April is one of the best months for value — good weather, lower prices, and availability on popular tours.
